Love burns

Press play.
Salute.

You may still need time to heal
And I’ve just figured it out

Only God
The Almighty

Can put us
Together again

I now know I need
To kiss that old dream
Goodbye

I once gave you
My heart and soul

And everything
I once owned

I’ve walked through the night
Seen through it all

Past all the black and white lies

If there was a second chance
At loving you

I'd take it right away

Starting today

But Father Times
Played his worn cards

In these passing seconds and minutes
My beloved tears still fall

Have
We gone too far

For
When I look into your deep
Brown eyes

I can see there’s
No more common ground

They're telling me it’s over

Yelling me to
Leave

I know how it goes

We can never make it
Too many lies have been
Spoken

Too many sacred oaths
Have been
Broken

It's now what
I should believe

But now I don’t want to leave
After writing and singing this

For your love is all
That I need
To still breathe

Your love is all
That I need
To still breathe
