Big Stan's monologue

(A grieving soul whispers)

Tonight

I pray to dream

But here I lay

Feverish

Pitched in a grey tent of fatigue

Like a weary soldier

Suffering from PTSD

Laid out

Like a green funeral wreath

Begging for eternal

sleep

On mountains

Of sweat stained white sheets

But sleep never comes

To climb to the summits of my peaks

So here I am

Just another lost

Soul

Crying for mercy and salvation

Bleating

Amongst the insomnia masses

Like a weary grief stricken sheep
