Have you clutched a Molotov cocktail?

Blessed be.

Velumbound.

A whisper of Love as Destruction.

Where Love is not presented as a sanctuary, but as a hazard.

Through Exhaustion.

Where the sheer physical and mental effort required to keep a relationship alive against all odds.

Will always end in inevitable collapse.

The transition from a small, controlled flame (the Molotov) to total seismic destruction (magnitude 8) shows that the collapse was always bound to happen.

Because a Molotov cocktail is a crude, highly unstable explosive.

Comparing love to holding one immediately establishes that the relationship is dangerous, volatile, and prone to blowing up at any moment.

With Self-Inflicted Pain.

For "Clutching", it implies a tight, desperate grip.

The speaker is holding onto something that threatens to destroy them, highlighting a painful conflict between desire and safety.

Maybe you know the feeling?

Shall we begin?

(A lone voice whispers)

Loving you was like clutching a Molotov cocktail.

Whilst walking in a raging gale, trying to keep it lit.

As life slowly hit 8.

On the spiritual Richter scale.
