When I remember
In the Red Churches
candlelight of sweet dreams
I often stood there
Perusing as I often did
In the Realms of the In-between
About an untamed Amazonian
Filled with un-swimmable wild
rivers
Dark sultry eyes
and undulating visceral streams
Cascading like the great
Niagara
Throughout overwhelming
painful emotions
That only an author or
budding poet or
angel
Could ever hope to
dive within
And feel it's strangely
tranquil breeze
as they sailed upon its
tempestuous
Evocative seas
Overflowing with unreadable
Themes of kindness
Just tinged with a sad touch of sin
I always used to look for her
Concealed
Just out of sight
Steeped in my dark
Trench coat flowing
Endlessly within its
Legions of dark shadows
And as I watched her
peeping and praying
Out of lace white curtains
Into the winter wonderland
Looking out
Searching for someone or just something
Out of her bedroom window
I always wondered
Would this be the night
When she finally saw me
Standing just hidden behind
that old red lamp post
Looking at the full Christmas moon
and praying to the Trinity of Holy Ghosts
Whistling melodic sounds
In union with
the early morning breeze
As it made a sudden appearance
As it drove by
Like a cunning cousin
Of Mephistopheles
Would she say yes
Would we together be free
Not just like the Maelstrom
of so many others
Parading around foolishly
Lost in a life filled with
Just look at me
and my material urges
Like it's just another contest as
Father Time
Quickly passes
Conditioned to forever
spend as they and
Bernay merges
Would she willingly
cross the threshold
Of my own visceral
Red Church
And
I hers and in those crimson flames
Embrace and beautiful get burnt
Would she choose
to stand with me as
Mephistopheles cousins
Drove by and whistled
Melodic sounds
as we too waved goodbye
Would our life and emotions
Merge like the
Titanic
When it hit that hidden iceberg
For our love has no end
Not like those others
who walk endlessly
in time loops where they
Parade
take selfies and just pretend
