If True Love could Speak

(A lone voice whispers)

Dear reader

One day

My love

I will appear like a ghost in the night

A shadow in the twilight to ask

With a soft whisper from The Great In-Between

As you sit surrounded by many old photographs of those you love

Looking outside at life as it casually strolls by

Do you ever still think of us

Me and your own anointed love

After all these years have passed

Now we've both disappeared back into the swirling grey mists of whence

We both once came

Do you ever dream of soft lips

You wish you could still kiss

Would a taste of us

Your once unquenchable need and souls only joy

Satisfy your endless greed

Or would it cause you to burn even more

For to know me is to open up the souls one true door

To one day be prepared to cherish painful memories and suffering

To run wild like a raindrop

Through loves green fields and lay wet in sweet nights filled with such salvation

For memories are all that's left

When Death suddenly comes calling

And leaves you all alone

Sitting in Griefs neverending falling rain

Are you willing to take that risk

If so

Take my hand so we can look for that special someone together

Or are we already lifelong friends

Just waiting for that spectacular day

Until we all meet again when it's your end

And tears stop falling and we are all reborn

In a new place where there is no griefs rain

For there is no weather

And we can all be together forever
