The Night Thief

Last night as you laid defenceless at 4 am

Seemingly enjoying your much-coveted sleep

I stood silently watching as Morpheus the Greek

Lullibied you with his sweet seductive mesmerising music

To beckon you to his secretive hypnotic realms

Of so mentally exhilarating ever-changing keeps

I saw you unconsciously toss and turn

To shake off that white silken protector sheet

To show the unseen spirit world

You were nearly totally naked underneath

I saw all the red lights of salacious yearnings

Burning

Appear in your ever-shifting aura

So suddenly and start flickering

I watched them burn so damn vividly

Lighting up that dark room

So incredibly beautifully

Who was this angel

This princess who laid before me

Shaking and turning in her deep sleep

That beautiful vision who still appears

As Father Times old clocks that he carries like his favourite toys

Ticks and so relentlessly beeps

Was it you that I saw Mon Cheri

As all those crimson mists

Spun and swirled

Painting stunning surreal tapestries of amazement with your aura

As your soul begged to be freed

To be unfurled

As I stood upright whilst summoned to silently wait

In that darkened room

I watched your soft fingers reach out

As you laid fumbling and murmuring for someone or something

It seemed

To feed your hungry mouth with something delicious like red wine

Served with by the silver spoon of the Greek  God of wine and fertility and drama

 Dionysus

Did you feel my sharp eyes whisper pagan spells

To make you open yours to look my way

And see me standing proud unafraid

In your midnight tomb

Did you hear them say

All your dark fantasies that you unconsciously engage within every day and night

You need to me confess tonight

All your locked-up minds deeply hidden secrets

It conscientiously keeps

You need to me

Release

Did you feel my strong fingers

Running up and down your curvaceous waist and skin

Then across those succulent red lips

Which parted to let me in

Which demanded a taste of a resounding conquest

With you as the prize of a nighttime quest

I will visit again tonight and promise I won't be too late

Whispering dark spells as you once again sleep

When Morpheus the Greek takes you literally so vigorously

To rapturously go so deep

Will you open your beautiful eyes

As my strong fingers once again begin their exquisite journeys

To the heart of all your Bermuda Triangle of yearnings

As your innermost soul begs for carnal release

From all of your life's unwanted griefs

Shall I call like a now welcomed and much adored expected thief

To claim you forever as you wilfully turn over

To then look me deeply in my hypnotic eyes and wantonly encircle this simple thought

You're just a sinful soul just like me

Even though you try to hide it all

Despite all your much-heralded outspoken religious beliefs

It's why I visit

For I was summoned like a thief in the night

As your soul cried out and called for its chains to be broken

For it to be released
