The Monologue of Samuel Carlsen

(A lone voice whispers.)

It's all mythical

And true love is a miracle

This I've found

After opening one or two lyrical doorways

Within this underground maze

Within my mind

For unconditional silent prayers

Seeking

Needing and pleading for it

Soft prayers

Carried gently upwards

 Like Autumn leaves

Into the midnight breeze

With such ease

Ephemeral but eternally spiritual

Through embedded emotions

Within every little notion

Is it why in this endless smokey darkness

I still dance

The Dance of Memoriae Aeternae

As invisible butterflies

Circle

Whispering her secret colorful name

Like hungry flames

In the fading moonlight

Licking and

kissing my hard skin

Landing and

Lying in wait

For that transitional universal moment

When I surrender myself to the past

Through these starlight filters

That always last

For I'm an untamed wild spirit

Bathing in surreptitious

originality

For I've endured the conception and cessation of light and love

In endless dark

Seen sharpened knives

Hidden in poetic words

Watched my heaven and earth being summoned to turn to ash

But as the burning seeds of chaos grew

I turned to you

Jesu

For much has been outgrown

And this you've shown

(A lone voice sings.)

Oh

Holy wisdom

Oh

Holy wisdom

Show me

Thy kingdom

Thy kingdom

So bright

So I can be

I can be

Drawn to thee

Drawn to thee

Tonight

Tonight

Lift my soul

Lift my soul

To new heights

To new heights

Tonight

Amen
