The Candle Maker Speaks

Press play before reading.
Salute.

(A lone voice whispers)

Hey you

I see you

You know

All the way from in here

Wherever you go

Do you just wish to escape your bored or harsh reality

So all those chained up fears and emotions can be set free

If only for a day
A week or even an hour or two

Would you like to seek sanctuary in my Red Church

If I invited you in

For I can feel it in your unspoken words

I can feel strands of all those urgent longings

As they impatiently
line up to return

Do you want me to send out a telepathic invitation

To tempt you to begin

So I can pour a glass of holy red wine as this red candle burns

To tempt us to sin

To then turn the slow music up and let our bodies use it

To then dance real close as the record spins

With a look of devilment in each other's eyes

And reflected in the movements of hungry lips

With hands wrapped tightly around each other's swaying hips

I know we'll reach new stimulating plateaus and sensuously erotic heights

Where no-one ever cries or dies

A new time zone where the world stops and time hangs so still

Trapped in dark skies as our once silent hopes and dreams are finally fulfilled

Then I'll pour some more delicious red wine as our once lonely bodies

Find a new rhythm to unwind

I just know you'll plead to turn the slow music up

Even more as this hot record drops

So our now hot bodies can use and abuse it

Dancing real close as we watch the setting Sun

And both praying this moment will last forever

And these new emotional streams

Will never stop

Then waving goodbye to Old Mother Moon

As she begins her slow march home

Shall we disappear somewhere so lucid

A place where we can lay together safely forever

As new sensations are introduced to be looted

And as some beautiful slow music plays and all those red candles burn

Do you too wish for all our once offered divine prayers and unspoken dreams

To slowly materialise and sing into being

This visceral vision I just keep seeing

A profound impression reflected on every surface

Whenever I pause to think of you

This unspoken bond we now share

I now know there can be no untying

For it now screams for a life of passion
Filled with new meaning

Offering us a rare
Once in a lifetime chance of freedom

If only we're both brave enough to walk into and breathe deeply

The winds of change as they quickly blow and plead with them to take us away

After giving us much-needed keys

To a golden new kingdom
