(A lone voice whispers)
I wandered far after losing my reason to live
Very young
Lost in a strange wilderness
From nineteen-five to nineteen seventy-seven
I read books
Studied Carl Jung and sung
Rock and Roll in a folk band
But as I got older
My heart now stung
Remained cold
Locked in hate
Since my parachute
My only love
Had entered The Great Black Gates
And all things hideous
Found a place in my broken hearts
Shopping cart
But late night
As the last breath of night blew
Right out of the blue
God whispered
"Micheal
It's time to step out of the cold
And come back
To the fold
Time to leave the curb
And hit the road
For mind and flesh cannot hold out forever
From me
Stood at the edges of the Great Cross Road"
For when God has a way that He liberates
With a cry of:
Look for me
The LORD of Lords
And feel my gift of courage
To fortify your weary heart
So before you die
Open up and be nourished
So your heart and spirit can heal
Slowly sense
Those high walls come down
When my love for you
Replaces fear with tears of joy
To no longer feel
Cold
And as wet as winters storm
Inside
He told me to pay attention
Before I died
To watch the skies
And as he said those spellbinding words to set me free
I looked deep into his eyes
And knew he meant no harm
That day
My old life left me
At five-thirty
Since then
I wasn't spiritually dirty
His torch lit my way
Through the old maze
Shrouded in darkness
For now
I'm beautiful
A reborn fallen angel
Like so many
Who once walked
around living
Only to be tempted by danger
But now I feel a strange sense of freedom
And now that old pains gone
I'm going to climb to the top this kingdom
Climb Sheol's snow-covered mountain range
To try to find and see her
Braced by the current winds of change
Carrying me across this new Age
Those old words of wisdom
I've written on this page
For all those wanting to escape the cage of rage
Before they too enter a new Interstellar Exchange
Look for me
The LORD of Lords
And feel my gift of courage
To fortify your weary heart
So before you die
Open up and be nourished
